This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was repainted in gold with a black nose stripe under previous ownership, and it was acquired by the seller in 2020. The car is powered by a replacement 350ci V8 equipped with a Weiand aluminum intake manifold, tubular headers, and a dual exhaust system, and it also has a three-speed automatic transmission, a 12-bolt rear axle, 14″ Rally wheels, RS-style hideaway headlights, and a rear spoiler. Work under current ownership has involved repairing and repainting the SS-style hood as well as installing an Edelbrock carburetor and air cleaner housing. This Camaro coupe was previously offered on BaT in August 2023, and it is now offered again at no reserve with a car cover and an Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The body was originally finished in Seafrost Green and was repainted in gold with a black nose stripe under previous ownership. The car wears SS and 350 badging, and additional features include RS-style hideaway headlights, chrome bumpers, and a rear spoiler. The seller reports that the SS-style hood was repaired and repainted after the carburetor caught on fire. There is a scratch on the right door, chips around the rear SS badge, and failing finish on the taillights.
The 14″ Rally wheels wear chrome trim rings and center caps, and white-letter BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires are mounted at all four corners. The car is equipped with power steering as well as power-assisted brakes.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in black vinyl, while woodgrain trim accents the center console. The AM radio does not work, and there are chips on the glove box door.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 52k miles, less than 200 of which have been added by the seller. The title lists an odometer reading of 61k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 350ci V8 is said to have been sourced from a later-model Camaro and was installed under previous ownership. It is equipped with a Weiand aluminum intake manifold as well as tubular headers and chrome valve covers. An Edelbrock carburetor and air cleaner housing were installed after the aforementioned fire. The car also has an aftermarket aluminum radiator as well as a chrome alternator and brake master cylinder. The oil was changed in June 2023.
The block stamping is shown above.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle.
