This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad is a two-door station wagon that was acquired by its current owner six years ago after being parked since 1993 and was refurbished over the course of five years ending in June 2021. The work included repainting the body in red and black and mounting it to an aftermarket frame as well as installing a 6.2-liter LS3 DR525 V8 and a 4L70E four-speed automatic transmission. Additional modifications consist of Corvette front and rear suspension, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, Mustang II steering components, 17″ Billet Specialties wheels, ceramic-coated exhaust headers, a Vintage Air HVAC system, a Corvette center console, a touchscreen stereo, and Dakota Digital gauges. This Bel Air wagon is offered by the seller on behalf of his father with 2021 show awards, equipment manuals, and a clean Arizona title in the owner’s name.
The body was repainted in red and black prior to being mounted on an aftermarket replacement frame from Progressive Automotive. The car features a two-piece tailgate, new glass, single-piece bumpers, four centered exhaust outlets, dual mirrors, and Bel Air badging.
Polished 17″ Billet Specialties wheels are mounted with staggered-width Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Braking is handled by a Wilwood system featuring cross-drilled and slotted rotors paired with six-piston calipers up front and four-piston versions out back. Corvette suspension with Aldan American coilovers is utilized at each end, and steering is via a Mustang II rack and pinion.
The cabin features late-model seats upholstered in tan with black Daytona-style inserts along with matching door panels and charcoal carpets. A C6 Corvette center console houses a double-DIN touchscreen Pioneer stereo and additional amenities consist of power windows, a two-speed windshield wiper kit, a Vintage Air HVAC system, and a storage console.
A Classic Industries steering wheel is mounted to an Ididit column and frames Dakota Digital gauges including a speedometer and tachometer as well as oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel gauges. The digital odometer shows 500 miles.
The engine bay was smoothed prior to installation of a 6.2-liter DR525 LS3 V8. Additional details included a polished aluminum radiator, inner fenders, and Billet Specialties hood hinges. Ceramic-coated stainless steel headers feed a polished stainless steel dual exhaust system.
