This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad two-door station wagon was refinished in burgundy and white over black tweed cloth upholstery before being acquired by the seller in August 2017. The replacement 350ci Chevrolet ZZZ V8 and 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission were installed under current ownership, and additional equipment includes a Holley carburetor, an aluminum radiator, B/G Rod Works 17″ alloy wheels, Wilwood front disc brakes, power steering, chrome trim, side-exit exhaust pipes, a rear tailgate, tail fins, Vintage Air climate control, aftermarket instrumentation, an Ididit steering column, and a Pioneer stereo receiver. This Bel Air Nomad is now offered with historical images and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The body was repainted in burgundy with a white side spear, rear quarter panels, and tailgate under prior ownership. Details include chrome Bel Air trim on the side moldings, tail fins, hood ornament, grille, tailgate, bumpers, and window surrounds along with a wraparound windshield, hooded headlights, sliding rear windows, sloped B-pillars, and side-exit exhaust pipes. An image showing glass delimitation on the rearmost right window is shown in the gallery.
B/G Rod Works 17″ five-spoke wheels wear Vogue redline tires measuring 215/55 up front and 235/55 out back. The car is equipped with a Classic Performance Products power steering kit, power-assisted Wilwood front disc brakes, and front and rear sway bars.
The seating and door panels are upholstered in black tweed cloth and joined by a body-color dashboard with bright trim. Interior appointments include Vintage Air climate control, vent windows, a center console, bright door sill protectors, rubber floor mats, lap belts for five occupants, sun visors, and a Pioneer stereo receiver. The seller notes the front bucket seats were sourced from a Chevrolet Corvair.
The 350ci ZZZ V8 crate engine was installed in 2022 and is equipped with a Holley carburetor, MSD ignition system, orange-painted Proform valve covers, and Patriot tubular headers. The aluminum radiator is assisted by both electric and mechanically driven fans.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission that is said to have been built by Bowtie Overdrive of Hesperia, California.
