This 1963 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe is a Canadian-market example that is said to have been acquired from the seller’s brother-in-law in 1973 and subsequently underwent a multi-year refurbishment. The car is finished in red over a red vinyl interior and powered by a replacement 350ci V8 crate engine paired with a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes a fender-mounted antenna, an aftermarket stereo, a dual exhaust system, power steering, rear coilovers, and 15″ chrome wheels. This Impala is now offered in Canada with a user’s guide, service records, the removed 14″ wheels, spare parts, and British Columbia registration in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory in white and is said to have received a replacement front clip following a front-end collision in 1975. The pillarless body was repainted in its current red finish during the 1990s, according to the seller. Additional work at that time reportedly included repairing the trunk floor and quarter panels along with installing replacement bumpers. Features include Impala badging, a fender-mounted antenna, and quad headlamps. Exterior blemishes are noted by the seller in the gallery.
Chrome 15″ wheels wear Sport Radial G/T tires up front and Multi-Mile Matrix rubber out back. The car is equipped with power steering, and an aftermarket coilover kit is installed out back. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted drum brakes at all four corners.
The cabin is said to have been reupholstered in 2012 and features two rows of bench seats trimmed in red vinyl with patterned inserts accompanied by a color-coordinated dash, door panels, and carpets. A Kenwood head unit is mounted in the glovebox and connected with speakers affixed to the kick panels and a trunk-mounted Kenwood subwoofer. Additional equipment includes a heater and replacement lap belts. The seller notes that the dash-mounted radio and clock are inoperative.
The two-spoke steering wheel wears a chrome horn ring and frames a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer along with a fuel level gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer is said to have rolled over and shows 66k miles.
The replacement 350ci GM Target Master V8 crate engine was reportedly installed in 1984. Modifications include an Edelbrock air cleaner and valve covers as well as ram’s horn-style exhaust manifolds flowing into a dual exhaust system.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Additional underside photos are shown in the gallery.
The removed 14″ wheels and hubcaps are included in the sale along with a collection of spare parts.
