This 1963 Chevrolet Impala is a white-over-red Sport Coupe that is powered by a 283ci V8 paired with a two-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes power-assisted brakes, a heater/defroster, an AM radio, and an aftermarket cassette stereo. The selling dealer acquired the car out of Connecticut in September 2021, reportedly from its previous owner of 25 years. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale. This two-door Impala is now offered by the selling dealer in New York with fender skirts and Connecticut registration.
The pillarless hardtop body left the factory in Ermine White, and it was repainted during prior ownership. Features include chrome bumpers, black-filled bright body-side moldings, triple-tail light groupings, dual antennas, and dual mirrors.
The 14″ wheels are fitted with polished covers, SS-branded center caps, and American Classic white-stripe tires, and a spare is stowed on a shelf in the trunk. Braking is from power-assisted drums.
The interior features bench seats upholstered in red cloth and vinyl as well as a matching dashboard pad, door panels, and carpeting. Features include aluminum dashboard accents, a heater and defroster, Impala-branded floor mats, and a push-button Delco AM radio, as well as an aftermarket cassette stereo mounted inside the glove compartment.
The steering wheel features a semicircular horn ring and fronts a 120-mph horizontal-sweep speedometer joined on the display panel by a fuel-level gauge, a quartet of warning lights, and a clock. The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles, approximately 50 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The 283ci Turbo-Fire V8 was factory rated at 195 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Additional underside photos are shown in the gallery below.
