This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was acquired by the current owner in 2016 as a stripped project and subsequently refurbished and modified with new components. Work included repainting the body in black, fitting TMI Products seats upholstered in black vinyl, and installation of a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 paired with a Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission and a Moser 12 bolt rear end assembly with a Truetrac limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes 18″ American Racing Rally-style wheels, Wilwood brakes, Ridetech coilover suspension, a BMR torque-arm rear suspension setup, ceramic-coated tubular headers, MagnaFlow mufflers, TMI Products front and rear bucket seats, a Vintage Air air conditioning system, an American Powertrain White Lightning shifter, custom machined accents, and a custom audio system. This modified Camaro is now offered on dealer consignment with recent service records and a clean California title.
The body was media blasted, a section of corrosion around the windshield was repaired, the trunk lid and inner fenders were replaced, and it was then repainted in the current shade of black with a silver stripe. A professional paint correction and a FEYNLAB self-healing ceramic coating was also applied. Equipment includes front and rear spoilers as well as chrome accents and dual exhaust outlets. A custom “LS” badge is applied to the front grille.
Aftermarket 18″ American Racing Rally-style wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The suspension is modified with Ridetech tubular front control arms, dampers with height-adjustable coilover springs, and a BMR rear torque-arm setup. Braking is handled by Wilwood calipers matched with cross-drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners.
The cabin is fitted with TMI Products front and rear bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl, along with color-coordinated treatments for the dashboard, door panels, headliner, and carpets. Equipment includes a TMI Products center console with cup holders, floor mats, a Vintage Air air conditioning, an American Powertrain White Lightning with a custom-machined wood knob, and a custom audio system.
An aftermarket Eddie Motorsports three-spoke steering wheel on a tilt column fronts replacement Dakota Digital gauges including a 160-mph speedometer. The digital odometer shows just over 4k miles, which is said to represent the mileage driven since completion of the project. True chassis mileage is unknown.
Custom machined accents adorn the 6.2-liter LS3 LS376/480 V8 crate engine that was sourced new from Chevrolet Performance, and it was rated at 495 horsepower and 473 lb-ft of torque when new. An oil change was most recently performed in July 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission, and a new Moser 12 bolt rear end assembly with a Truetrac limited-slip differential and 4.11:1 gearing. The gear ratio was changed from 3.73 in 2018 and the transmission fluid was replaced in June 2020. Tubular ceramic coated headers feed into a custom dual-exhaust system with a cross pipe and MagnaFlow mufflers, and additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
Service, modification, and refurbishment records are included in the sale.
