This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS coupe is finished in Butternut Yellow over a black standard interior and was one of 1,138 examples built for the model year with an L78 396ci V8. It is now powered by a replacement 396ci V8 that sends power to the rear wheels through a Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes a black vinyl roof, 14″ rally wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering, a rear axle radius rod, an aluminum intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, a center console, and an aftermarket AM/FM stereo with an auxiliary input. The seller purchased the car on BaT in February 2019 and has since added approximately 500 miles. This Camaro SS is now offered by the seller on behalf of his father with a clean Georgia title.
The body was refinished in Butternut Yellow (Y) during previous ownership and features a black vinyl top, a black tail panel, and a black nose stripe. Additional equipment includes SS badging, “396 Turbo-Jet” fender emblems, and polished rocker moldings.
14″ rally wheels are finished in silver, wear chrome center caps and beauty rings, and are wrapped in reproduction Firestone Wide Oval tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The interior features Strato Bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl, matching door panels, black carpets, and a black dash pad. Equipment includes a center console with a storage compartment, black lap belts, and an aftermarket AM/FM stereo with an auxiliary input.
The three-spoke steering wheel wears an SS horn cap and frames a 120-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Auxiliary instruments in the center console consist of an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and battery charge. The five-digit odometer shows 650 miles. True mileage is unknown.
Power is provided by a 396ci V8 that was reportedly installed in place of the original L78 engine in the 1960s. Equipment includes an aluminum intake manifold, chrome valve covers, and a four-barrel carburetor.
The engine casting number reads 3902406, indicating a 1967 396ci block.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle.
