This 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is finished in brown over tan cloth and is powered by a retrofitted 502ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and a PowerTrax rear locker. Equipment includes bucket seats, tilt steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, 15″ rally wheels, a dual exhaust system, a Holley carburetor, subframe connectors, traction bars, and a Hurst dual-gate shifter. The car was recently acquired by the selling dealer, and subsequent service reportedly consisted of replacing the starter, fuel pump, and hoses along with the brake master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, alternator, spark plug wires, and battery. This Z28 is now offered with a build sheet, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Ohio title.
The car is finished in brown with two-tone tan and brown Z28 stripes. Equipment includes body-color bumpers, a NACA-style hood scoop, 502 badging, fender vents, sport mirrors, and a decklid spoiler.
Body-color 15″ Rally wheels wear white-letter Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires measuring 225/70 up front and 255/60 out back. The car is equipped with power-assisted front disc/rear drum brakes, and the brake master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders are said to have been replaced. A space-saver spare tire is located in the trunk.
The cabin features seats upholstered in tan cloth with a brown dash, door panels, and carpets. A full-length center console houses a Hurst dual-gate shifter with a T-handle. The JVC cassette stereo, the clock, and the air conditioning are inoperable, and the headliner fabric was removed.
Instrumentation includes a 130-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles.
The retrofitted 502ci V8 breathes through a Holley four-barrel carburetor and was reportedly fitted with a Davis Unified ignition and an electric fuel pump as well as a replacement battery and spark plug wires.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission with a 2,500-rpm-stall torque converter as well as a PowerTrax rear locker. A 3″ Pypes exhaust is fitted along with ceramic-coated headers and an X-pipe. Subframe connectors and traction bars have been added.
The build sheet shown above lists standard and optional equipment.
