This 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 was recently acquired by the selling dealer and was refurbished during previous ownership. Work included a repaint in black, reupholstering the interior, and installing a 383ci stroker V8, a Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission, and a Vintage Air air-conditioning system. Other equipment includes 15″ wheels, a dual exhaust system, power windows and door locks, and a Dual CD stereo. This Z28 is now offered by the selling dealer with a selection of spares, two sets of keys, refurbishment documentation, a build sheet, and a clean Nevada title.
The body was repainted in the original black during previous ownership and features Z28 graphics, blacked-out front and rear window trim, fender vents, and dual exhaust outlets. A paint chip is noted on the left side, and blemishes are present on the front lip. Close-up photos of the paint and trim can be viewed in the gallery.
15″ wheels feature black-painted centers and wear 225/60 front and 255/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car rides on a lowered suspension, and braking is from power-assisted discs in front and drums out back.
The interior was reupholstered in the original black and features a Vintage Air air-conditioning system, a Dual CD stereo, an adjustable driver’s seat, power windows and door locks, and a tilt steering wheel. The selling dealer states that the seat belt guides are missing and that the weatherstripping was replaced during the refurbishment.
The instruments were also replaced during previous ownership and include a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and temperature. The digital odometer shows 2k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 383ci stroker V8 was reportedly sourced from BluePrint Engines in 2017 and is said to feature aluminum cylinder heads, a hydraulic roller camshaft, 10.01:1 compression, hypereutectic pistons, polished valve covers, an Edelbrock air cleaner, a March Performance serpentine belt bracket and pulleys, Patriot headers, and an aluminum radiator.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Turbo-Hydramatic transmission reportedly sourced from TCI Auto. Additional underside photos can be viewed in the gallery.
The build sheet confirms the Z28 special performance package and shows the original paint and trim colors.
A binder of photographs documenting the refurbishment is included in the sale, and a video featuring driving footage and a walk-around is provided below.
