This 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe is powered by a replacement 350ci V8 paired to a three-speed automatic transmission, and it is finished in blue over blue vinyl. Features include 14″ aluminum wheels, power-assisted steering and brakes, cruise control, front bucket seats, power windows, and a tilt-adjustable steering column. The current owner is said to have purchased the car new in 1979, and work performed in 2009 and 2011 included replacing the engine, repainting the bodywork, and reupholstering the interior. This Camaro Sport Coupe is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of its owner with service records and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The car was refinished in blue in 2011 and features dark blue and silver exterior accents, body-color front and rear bumpers, chrome headlamp bezels, a ram air hood, and a decklid spoiler. Photos showing blemishes are shown up-close in the gallery.
The 14″ aluminum wheels wear 215/70 Dominator All Season tires showing 2009 date codes. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The steering box was replaced in May 2023.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in blue vinyl with a coordinating dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include an adjustable driver-side seat back, cruise control, intermittent wipers, power windows, and a floor-mounted shifter. The seller notes that the air conditioning is inoperative, and a photo showing a crack on the dashboard can be viewed in the gallery.
The steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column and frames a 130-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer as well as an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, voltage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 99k miles, though total mileage is unknown due to the replacement engine.
The replacement 350ci V8 was installed in 2009 at which time the carburetor was rebuilt, the fuel tank was cleaned, and the thermostat, belts, hoses, and spark plugs were replaced. Work carried out in October 2022 is said to have included replacing the water pump and fuel pump. The car last passed a California emissions test in March 2023. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
