This 1974 Chevrolet Nova is finished in gold over a checked cloth interior and powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission. The car is said to have spent most of its life in the Pacific Northwest prior to its acquisition out of Wyoming and relocation to Texas by its current owner in February 2021. Service in the time since included reupholstering the seats and replacing the headliner and dash pad as well as the mufflers, battery tray, and valve-cover gaskets. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale. This Nova is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with an owner’s manual, a sales brochure, service records from current ownership, two spare sets of hubcaps, and a clean Texas title.
The car was originally finished in Light Gold Metallic (53) with chrome bumpers and front bumper guards. Close-up photographs detailing weathered paint and spot corrosion, as well as chips, nicks, and scrapes, can be viewed in the gallery.
Color-keyed 14″ steel wheels are wrapped in Delta Esteem Plus whitewall tires showing 2011 date codes. Two additional sets of hubcaps accompany the car, one of which features smooth polished aluminum with trim rings, and the other features full covers with logo centers.
A 2021 refresh of the interior included reupholstering both bench seats in white and black checked cloth as well as replacing the headliner and the dash pad. Amenities include front-seat head restraints, a heater/defroster, and a push-button AM radio.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph horizontal-sweep speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 5k miles and is believed to have rolled over. The car has been driven 400 miles under current ownership, and true mileage is unknown.
The 350ci L65 V8 was factory-rated at 145 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque, and it breathes through a Rochester two-barrel carburetor as well as a dual exhaust system with an H-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. The smog pump and air-injection tubes have been removed, and a shorter drive belt was installed. The battery tray and valve-cover gaskets were replaced in 2021, and service in preparation for the sale included replacing the battery and changing the oil. The selling dealer reports a knocking sound when the engine is warm.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission.
