This 1972 Chevrolet Nova coupe was refurbished and modified following the seller’s acquisition in 2003 with work involving sheet metal repairs, refinishing the body in red, and installing a 572ci V8, which is mated to a GFI five-speed manual transmission and a 10-bolt rear end with a 3.90:1 Positraction differential. The car is further equipped with black vinyl upholstery, staggered-diameter Vision alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, adjustable coilovers, and AutoMeter instrumentation in addition to Manley connecting rods, Sportsman Racing Products pistons, Dart cylinder heads, an Edelbrock intake manifold and fuel rails, a Holley EFI throttle body elbow, and a Ron Davis aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. This modified Nova was featured on the cover of National Nostalgic Nova magazine in February 2006 and is now offered with a copy of the magazine, build photos, spare parts, a car cover, and a Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in Gulf Green (43), and the hood, quarter panels, taillight panel, and back glass lower support panel were replaced prior to being repainted in red during the aforementioned refurbishment. The bumpers, grille, lights, and emblems were also replaced, and Rhino Liner material was applied to the inner fenders. Additional exterior details include dual side mirrors, a cowl induction hood, and SS emblems. There is a dent in the hood, and the seller notes rust bubbles in the paint on the drip rails and at the bottom of both doors.
Vision alloy wheels measure 17″ up front and 15″ out back and are wrapped in 26×6.0″ Mickey Thompson tires up front and 275/60 Nitto NT555R Extreme Drag tires at the rear. The suspension features QA1 coilovers, Energy Suspension urethane bushings, and Classic Performance Products drop spindles up front as well as Ridetech coilovers with bolt-in Competition Engineering subframe connectors at the rear. Braking is handled by a Wilwood master cylinder feeding Corvette-sourced calipers up front and The Right Stuff calipers at the rear, which are mounted over cross-drilled and slotted rotors at each corner.
The interior features front bucket seats and a rear bench seat trimmed in black vinyl upholstery joined by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Sound-deadening material was reportedly installed under the carpets, and the headliner is said to have been replaced. Aftermarket cup holders are mounted ahead of a Hurst shifter, and an American Auto Wire wiring harness is said to have been installed. The car is not equipped with a heater or air conditioning.
The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of AutoMeter Phantom instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
