This 1972 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS was delivered new to Cormier Chevrolet of Long Beach, California and is finished in silver over black cloth and vinyl upholstery. Power is provided by a 350ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes Rally Sport trim, a front spoiler, body-color 14″ Rally wheels, front bucket seats, a center console, and a dual exhaust system. The seller acquired the car earlier in 2022, and a repaint has since been performed. This Camaro is offered at no reserve with partial service records, a build sheet, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Silver, the car was reportedly repainted in October 2022. Features include a front spoiler, chrome front bumperettes, a black-painted grille insert, and SS 350 badging on the fenders. Photos in the gallery below show cracks on the right front turn signal lens and chips in the windshield.
Body-color 14″ Rally wheels are wrapped in 255/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with front and rear sway bars along with power-assisted steering and brakes.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black cloth with vinyl sides. The car is equipped with a heater and a center console. The radio is missing and the air conditioning is non-functional. The faux wood trim is cracked and worn, and the dome light and mirror adjustment knob are missing.
The two-spoke SS-badged steering wheel frames a 130-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, and a clock along with auxiliary gauges displaying fuel level, amperage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 17k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added by the seller. The odometer has rolled over at least once and true mileage is unknown.
The Turbo-Fire 350ci V8 was factory rated at 200 horsepower and is equipped with a dual exhaust system. An ignition system tune up was performed in 2018, and an oil change was carried out in September 2022. The seller notes an oil leak.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission and a rear end with 3.08:1 gearing. Additional underside photos are viewable in the gallery below.
The build sheet shows factory options, including the Z22 Rally Sport and Z27 Super Sport packages, along with original delivery to Cormier Chevrolet of Long Beach, California.
