This 1971 Chevrolet Camaro RS was refurbished and modified under prior ownership, and it is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 mated to a Powerglide automatic transmission, a Gear Vendors overdrive unit, and a 10-bolt rear end with a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a Holley Dominator electronic fuel injection system, Hedman Husler exhaust headers, dual Walbro fuel pumps, and a Strange Engineering driveshaft and drive axles. Finished in orange with white stripes over tan vinyl upholstery, the car features front and rear spoilers, front bumperettes, staggered-width Centerline 15” wheels, traction bars, and front disc brakes. Work performed since the selling dealer’s acquisition in 2023 has involved adding a flex-fuel kit, dyno tuning the engine, and replacing the alternator. This modified Camaro is now offered in Kansas with recent service records, and a Kansas title.
The car left the factory finished in Classic Copper (67) and was repainted in orange with white stripes during the aforementioned build, which was completed in 2022. Exterior details include a front lip spoiler, front bumperettes, a decklid spoiler, and bright rocker panel trim.
Centerline Warrior 15×5” front and 15×8” rear wheels are mounted with 205/75 Goodyear Viva 2 and 275/60 Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S tires, respectively. The suspension has been outfitted with Lakewood 90/10 front drag shocks, traction bars, and Bilstein rear shocks. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and the lines are said to have been replaced under prior ownership. A line lock kit has been added, but it is not fully connected.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in tan vinyl, and they are joined by a black dashboard, center console, headliner, door panels, and carpets. Lap belts are provided for front occupants.
An ice tank reservoir for the intercooler is mounted in the trunk.
The 6.2-liter GM Performance LSA V8 crate engine is equipped with an STG Motorsports camshaft and pushrods, and the supercharger has been modified with a reinforced intercooler brick, a solid isolator, and a lid sourced from a Cadillac CTS-V. An upgraded trunnion and an ATI Super Damper have also been installed. A flex-fuel kit was added in 2024 to the Holley Dominator electronic fuel injection system, which is connected to billet rails and Injector Dynamics 1300X2 injectors. A Rick’s Tanks fuel tank is equipped with dual Walbro fuel pumps and a Fore Innovations FC3 controller, while Hedman Husler Muscle Rods exhaust headers flow into a dual exhaust system with a crossover pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. The AFCO aluminum radiator is cooled by an electric puller fan, and additional components include an LSX Concepts accessory belt drive, Lingenfelter 9.17” lower pulley, ZPE 2.45” upper pulley, ZL1 blower pump, AFCO air-to-water heat exchanger, and trunk-mounted blower coolant reservoir. Dyno test results are presented in the video gallery showing a measured peak output of 658 horsepower and 599 lb-ft of torque using E50 fuel. The alternator and belt were replaced in August 2024.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through an SFI-certified Dedenbear two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission with a Gear Vendors overdrive unit and a Transmission Specialties torque converter and overflow tank. The 8.5” 10-bolt rear end has a reinforced housing with a Summit cover and a limited-slip differential with 4.10:1 gearing. A Strange Engineering chromoly driveshaft, billet 1350 yoke, and drive axles have also been installed.
A build sheet will accompany the car along with service records under current ownership.
The current Kansas title carries an Antique brand.
