This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe was acquired by the owner in 2020 and was subsequently modified by Big 3 Performance of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Work consisted of stripping and repainting the body in black with silver stripes and installing the replacement 498ci V8, Tremec five-speed manual transmission, and Moser 12-bolt rear axle as well as replacing brake and suspension components. Features include Vintage Air climate control, black vinyl upholstery, a Holley Sniper EFI and Hyperspark electronic ignition, a billet distributor, an Auburn Positraction differential, Richmond 3.73:1 gears, a UMI Performance front and rear suspension, and a Hydratech Hydroboost power brake system along with Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, staggered Forgeline wheels, Dakota Digital instrumentation, and an Alpine CD stereo. This Chevelle is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean Wisconsin title.
The body was repainted in black with silver hood and decklid stripes under current ownership. Features include an SS-style functional cowl hood, a black grille, bright wheel opening trim, SS badges, chrome bumpers and drip rails, tinted windows, and dual exhaust outlets that exit below the rear bumper. The quarter panel skins were replaced during the refurbishment.
The three-piece Forgeline wheels feature silver centers and black barrels and are mounted with Kuhmo Ecsta PS91 tires measuring 245/40 ZR19 up front and 295/35 ZR20 out back. The car is equipped with a UMI Performance front and rear suspension, QA1 adjustable coilovers, and power steering. Stopping power is provided by a Hydratech Hydroboost power brake system with Wilwood six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers out back.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Features include Vintage Air climate control, a center console, a Hurst shifter, lap belts for all occupants, aftermarket speakers, and an Alpine CD stereo.
The three-spoke steering wheel has an SS horn button and frames a Dakota Digital 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and ancillary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 1,100 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 498ci V8 was installed during current ownership and features a hydraulic roller camshaft, a ported intake manifold and cylinder heads, a Holley Sniper EFI and Hyperspark electronic ignition, a billet distributor, a 150-amp alternator, MSD ignition wires, Hooker headers, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a Moser 12-bolt rear axle with an Auburn Positraction differential and Richmond 3.73:1 gears. A McLeod clutch master and slave cylinder were installed along with an RST dual-disc clutch. A 3″ dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers have been fitted.
