This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe is said to have been refurbished by Evans Classic Car Restoration of Arnold, Missouri, before being acquired by the current owner in 2017. Work reportedly included powder-coating the frame, repainting the body in maroon, reupholstering the interior in black vinyl, fitting a front disc brake conversion, and freshening the 454ci V8 which is paired with a five-speed Tremec TKX transmission. A Hurst shifter is fitted along with LED lighting, a cowl-induction hood, chrome 15″ Cragar wheels, a center console, air conditioning, an aftermarket stereo, and Stewart-Warner accessory gauges. This Chevelle is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a clean Missouri title.
The car was repainted in maroon with black over-the-top stripes and is fitted with chrome bumpers, LED-equipped headlights, a cowl-induction hood, hood pins, a left-side mirror, SS and 454 badging, and dual polished exhaust finishers. The seller notes a paint chip near the passenger door handle and scratch on the right-front fender.
Chrome 15″ Cragar wheels are mounted with 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Stopping power is provided by a front disc brake conversion paired with rear drums, and power steering is fitted. The suspension was reportedly fitted with adjustable coilovers.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench reupholstered in black vinyl with color-coordinating door panels and trim. A center console is fitted along with SS-branded floor mats, manual crank windows, air conditioning, a Hurst shifter with a cue-ball shift knob, and an aftermarket stereo. The seller notes that the interior light bulbs were replaced with LEDs under current ownership.
A three-spoke steering wheel with an SS-badged horn button frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a clock, and auxiliary displays for fuel level and coolant temperature. Stewart-Warner gauges displaying oil pressure and voltage are located beneath the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 1,800 miles, approximately 1,750 of which were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The 454ci V8 is fitted with an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold as well as Hooker headers and polished valve covers. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission that was installed under current ownership.
The frame is said to have been powder-coated during the refurbishment, and additional photos of the underbody are provided in the gallery.
