This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle convertible has been fitted with a 496ci V8, a four-speed automatic transmission, a QA1 Handling Level 2 suspension kit, a Holley Sniper fuel injection kit, Pro Car front seats, Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air climate control, power windows, and a Classic Sound stereo. The car was refinished in black with white stripes over white vinyl upholstery, and additional equipment includes a black soft top, front disc brakes, and 15″ Super Sport wheels. The seller purchased the car in 2015, and the speedometer sensor was replaced in May 2023. This Chevelle convertible is now offered with a repair manual, recent service records, and a Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
Originally Fathom Blue, the car has been repainted in black with white stripes. Equipment includes a power-adjustable black soft top, aftermarket quad headlights, chrome bumpers and trim, hood pins, dual side mirrors, SS badges, and polished exhaust outlets.
Painted 15″ Super Sport wheels wear chrome trim rings and 235/60 front and 295/50 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. A QA1 Handling Level 2 suspension kit has been added that includes a Pro Adjustable coilover system, upper and lower control arms, front and rear sway bars, and upper and lower trailing arms. Braking is handled by front discs with cross-drilled and slotted rotors, rear drums, and a Classic Performance Parts HydraStop power brake booster.
The cabin features front Pro Car bucket seats and a rear bench seat trimmed in white vinyl with matching door panels. A replacement black carpeting kit has also been added, and additional equipment includes a Vintage Air climate control system, power windows, SS-branded floor mats, and a Classic Sound radio with custom speakers in the front kick panels. A Holley Sniper control unit is mounted in the center console.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a Dakota Digital 8k-rpm tachometer, a 160-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The digital shows 1,100 miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 496ci V8 was built by Blueprint Engines and is equipped with Holley Sniper programmable electronic fuel injection. Additional equipment includes Chevrolet-branded valve covers, an Entropy aluminum radiator with dual HPX electric cooling fans, a Holley accessory system, a Holley fuel tank with an electric fuel pump, cast iron exhaust manifolds, and a custom exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. The speedometer sensor was replaced in May 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 200-4R four-speed automatic transmission and a replacement drive shaft, a Positraction rear differential, and replacement axles.
