This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end. The car is finished in Classic Copper over black vinyl upholstery, and additional equipment includes white stripes, a split front bumper, 15″ Z28 wheels, a push-button AM/FM radio, a Hurst shifter, a COPO 9697–style rear spoiler, and a heater. Sold new from Clippinger Chevrolet of Covina, California, the car spent time in Texas prior to the seller’s acquisition in 2018, and the engine was rebuilt in October 2021. This Z28 is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, an NCRS Shipping Data Report, a Jerry MacNeish Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted in Classic Copper (67) during previous ownership. Features include a split front bumper, Z28 badging, white stripes, a front spoiler, and a COPO 9697-style rear spoiler. The seller notes the trunk spring does not hold the decklid in its raised position.
Gray-finished 15” Z28 wheels are mounted with 245/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs with rear drums, and the car is equipped with power steering. Z28 models featured higher-rate coil springs and front and rear stabilizer bars.
The cabin features front bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include push-button AM/FM radio, a heater, and a Hurst shifter. The seller notes the dome light is inoperative.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts instrumentation consisting of a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, voltage, and coolant temperature. The seller notes the speedometer is not connected, and warning lights on the dash are inoperative. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement 350ci LT1 V8 features an aluminum intake manifold and a Holley four-barrel carburetor. The engine was rebuilt in 2021, and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale. A removed Winters intake manifold is included in the sale according to the seller.
The engine identification includes the sequence V0509CTB, which indicates assembly at the Flint, Michigan, engine plant on May 9. The suffix code CTB indicates a 350ci LT1 V8, and the casting number 3970010 is shown in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a 3.73:1 Positraction rear end. Additional photos of the underbody are viewable in the gallery below.
