This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro was acquired by the current owner in 2015 and was subsequently refurbished and modified by Street Dreams of Fredericksburg, Texas. The car is finished in metallic gray with black stripes over black upholstery, and power comes from an Eaton-supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 paired with a Tremec T56 six-speed Super Magnum manual transmission and a Detroit Truetrac limited-slip differential. Additional modifications include a Chassisworks suspension and subframes, VariShock adjustable coilovers, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with adjustable front/rear bias, a carbon-fiber driveshaft, DynoMax mufflers, Forgeline wheels, a custom cooling system, Sparco seats and steering wheel, a Vintage Air air-conditioning system, Dakota Digital gauges, and a roll cage. This Camaro is now offered on dealer consignment in California with refurbishment photos, partial records, February 2021 dyno test results, and a clean Texas title in the current owner’s name.
Delivered from the factory in Shadow Gray (17), the car is believed to have received paintwork under previous ownership. The bumpers were re-chromed during the refurbishment and replacement chrome trim was added according to the selling dealer. Features include black racing stripes, Z28 badges, and dual sport mirrors. Imperfections in the finish can be seen in the gallery below.
The Forgeline 18″ wheels feature black centers with polished lips and are mounted with Nitto NT05 tires. Chassisworks subframes and suspension components were installed during the refurbishment along with VariShock adjustable coilovers. Braking is handled by Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with an adjustable front/rear bias and slotted and cross-drilled two-piece rotors.
The cabin was lined with Dynamat insulation during the refurbishment and features carbon-fiber-backed Sparco buckets with black leather and Alcantara upholstery. The rear bench is trimmed in black vinyl and is joined by a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a roll bar, Schroth Racing harnesses, a Hurst shifter, and a Vintage Air air-conditioning system.
The Alcantara-wrapped Sparco quick-release steering wheel fronts Dakota Digital gauges. The digital odometer shows just over 500 miles, all of which were added after the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown.
The 6.2-liter Gen-V LT4 V8 features an Eaton supercharger and was installed by Street Dreams along with a Mocal oil cooler and custom-made exhaust headers, condenser, intercooler, and an aluminum radiator. The battery has been relocated to the trunk and is fitted along with an electrical cutoff switch. Results from a February 2021 dyno test can be seen in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec T56 six-speed Super Magnum manual transmission, a high-performance clutch with an adjustable throw-out bearing, and a carbon-fiber driveshaft. The Chassisworks rear axle features a 9″ center section and a Detroit Truetrac limited-slip differential. A custom fuel tank was installed during the refurbishment along with an exhaust system with Dynomax mufflers.
A series of photos taken during the refurbishment can be seen in the gallery below.
