This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro has been converted by the seller into a Z-28 tribute car. Powered by a 350ci V8 backed by a Turbo Hydramatic transmission, this example was acquired by the seller two years ago from the wife of its original California owner. A cosmetic refurbishment was then performed and included a repaint, adding a number of Z-28 touches, refreshing the interior as detailed below, and installing a Summit Racing 2.5″ exhaust. The car recently received an oil change, and the seller has driven it only about 200 miles since the work was completed. This Camaro is now being offered with a clean California title.
Cosmetic work to the exterior over the last two years included a repaint in the original Autumn Gold along with the addition of black Z-28 stripes, Z-28 badges, front and rear spoilers, an RS-style split front bumper, Chevrolet Rally wheels, and new BF Goodrich Radial TAs.
The interior was also refreshed with new upholstery, new carpets and an OEM dash cover. Originally fitted with the deluxe interior package that included wood veneers and knit seat inserts, the seats now wear standard vinyl coverings. There is a noticeable crack in the upper portion of the steering wheel rim, and an aftermarket cassette stereo and speakers were installed at some time in the past. The seller mentions that the air conditioner works and that the 96,868 indicated miles are believed accurate.
The body tag verifies that this car started life as a standard V8 1970 Camaro in Autumn Gold with deluxe Saddle Knit bucket seats.
The 350ci V8 made 250 hp when new and has been fitted with an aftermarket air cleaner and valve covers. The seller also recently added a complete Summit Racing 2.5″ dual exhaust system. While there is no mention of a rebuild, the block and intake manifold appear to have been repainted at one time. The only recent service noted has been an oil change, and no receipts for the refurbishment are available.
