1969 Chevrolet Nova

This 1969 Chevrolet Nova was converted to a drag car under previous ownership and acquired by the seller in California two years ago. The car is refinished in blue with a removable front clip and an American flag motif and is powered by a 540ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a narrowed rear axle with coilover suspension as well as a tubbed rear end, staggered-width Weld Racing wheels, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, a ladder bar, a roll cage, a racing seat, a four-point harness, a window net, a B&M shifter, and a fuel cell. This Nova drag car is now offered in California with spare parts and a bill of sale.

The body has been refinished in blue under previous ownership and fitted with a removable front clip with a painted American flag motif that extends to the trunk. Additional equipment includes a rear ladder bar, a Lexan windshield, a chrome rear bumper, and a modified rear panel section with battery terminals and a battery switch. Paint chips and scuffs are noted on the front clip.

Weld Racing 15″ wheels wear Mickey Thompson tires up front, and 32×14″ Mickey Thompson drag slicks are fitted within the tubbed rear end. The suspension features lightweight control arms with rear Aldan American coilovers. Braking is handled by Wilwood four-wheel discs.

The cockpit is lined in custom aluminum panels and houses a racing seat nestled within a black multi-point cage. The RJS Racing Equipment harness meets SFI 16.1 specification and expires in December 2023. A B&M Pro Ratchet shifter has been installed along with a delay box, a window net, and a fan. Additional switchgear is located on the ceiling.

A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of an AutoMeter tachometer and a shift light mounted to the roll cage. A pair of AutoMeter gauges are mounted in the removable dashboard mount. Neither a speedometer nor an odometer are installed, and the total chassis mileage is unknown.

The rear has been tubbed to accommodate the large rear tires, and the trunk houses a fuel cell and two battery boxes in junction for a 16-volt system.

The Scott Shafiroff Race Engines 540ci Chevrolet V8 with topped with a C&S Specialties carburetor, a polished intake manifold, and a Quick Fuel Technology billet throttle cable bracket. Additional equipment includes a Meziere Enterprises water pump, an aluminum radiator, an electric cooling fan, an Aeromotive fuel pump and regulator, an Oberg remote oil filter, and a custom exhaust system. The most recent service reportedly consisted of changing the engine oil and gearbox fluid.

Power is routed to the rear slicks through a Chevrolet TH400 three-speed automatic transmission with a transmission brake and electronic shifting. The seller states that the rear end is equipped with a Strange Engineering spool and axles.
