This 1969 Chevrolet Impala SS 427 was sold new at Nalley Chevrolet in Atlanta, Georgia, and is powered by a numbers-matching L36 427ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and positraction differential. It is one of 2,455 examples produced for the model year and is finished in black over matching vinyl. The car was acquired in 2018 by actor Shia LaBeouf from director David Ayer and was later featured in their movie Tax Collector. Equipment includes power steering, front disc brakes, air conditioning, and an aftermarket radio. A refurbishment completed under previous ownership consisted of a repaint, an engine rebuild, and an interior refresh. This Impala is offered by the seller on behalf of Shia LaBeouf with a window sticker, service records, a Protect-O-Plate, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean California title.
Originally finished in Tuxedo Black (10), the car was reportedly refurbished under previous ownership with work including a bare-metal repaint in black urethane, installing a replacement windshield, and re-chroming the bumpers and trim. The 15″ Rally wheels are mounted with 235/70 BFGoodrich Redline tires. The L36 427ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt and was factory rated at 390 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The RPO code Z24 engine featured a Quadrajet carburetor, 10.25:1 compression ratio, forged connecting rods, and chrome air cleaner. Modifications include ceramic-coated Hooker headers and a dual exhaust system. The factory radiator is said to have been re-cored.
Engine-block stamping 068732 matches the last six digits of the chassis identification plate, which is pictured in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Turbo-400 three-speed automatic transmission and a positraction 12-bolt rear axle with 2.73:1 gearing. It is reported that the fuel tank and sending unit were replaced as part of the refurbishment.
