This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS was purchased by its previous owner around five years and 5k miles ago. The selling dealer recently acquired it, and the car is believed to be an original big-block 396 model with factory power brakes and power steering, though this cannot be confirmed with documentation. It is currently equipped with a 454ci V8 paired to a TH400 automatic transmission. The engine has been upgraded with headers, a Holley carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, and an MSD electronic ignition system. A set of Rallye wheels have also been fitted, and the interior benefits from a prior refurbishment. This Chevelle is now being offered at no reserve in Portland with a clean Oregon title.
This Chevelle was repainted in the past, and the finish appears to carry a consistent shine in these pictures. Evidence of prior body repairs is present, and corrosion has been found on the trunk floor behind the gas tank, the passenger-side floors, and the rockers. The seller has provided pictures of known flaws in the 100+ photo gallery below.
The exterior has been finished in red with white racing stripes, and 454 front fender badges were also added. 15″ Rallye wheels wear 235/60 series BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
At some point years ago, the interior was refreshed with new upholstery, carpeting, and trim. Many detailed interior pictures have been provided by the seller.
Currently, the five-digit odometer shows 371 miles and has turned over once to the seller’s knowledge. Total mileage is unknown as service records were not included with the vehicle.
A 454ci V8 now takes the place of the original engine. Performance is increased with a set of headers, a Holley carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, and an MSD electronic ignition system. Multiple engine bay shots are shown in the gallery.
The factory data tag is depicted above. The previous owner was told that this Chevelle is an original big-block car, however that claim cannot be verified with paperwork.
After inspecting the underside, the seller states that this car likely did some drag racing at some point. Evidence of traction bars or sub-frame stiffeners has been found, along with repairs to the frame and floors. Additional detailed undercarriage pictures are displayed in the photo gallery.
