This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu is a modified example that was refurbished as a Yenko tribute under previous ownership and was acquired by the seller in June 2022. Work included refinishing the car in red over parchment vinyl upholstery as well as installing a 454ci V8 and a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment consists of painted Yenko-style stripes, 15″ Torq Thrust wheels, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, tubular exhaust manifolds, a Flowmaster dual exhaust system, column-mounted gauges, Yenko-branded headrests, and a Hurst shifter. This Chevelle is offered with a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Dover White and was repainted in red with Yenko-style stripes under previous ownership. Dual side mirrors are fitted along with a chrome grille, bumpers, and wheel arch moldings.
This is a re-list after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in September 2022 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner has been banned from future participation on BaT and their buyer’s fee was not refunded.
American Racing 15″ Torq Thrust wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping is provided by power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums.
The front bucket seats are trimmed in parchment vinyl with YSC-branded headrests and joined by a matching rear bench seat and door panels. Black carpets line the floors, and additional equipment consists of a center console, a floor-mounted Hurst gear shift with a white shift knob, a push-button AM radio, a cabin heater, and hand-crank windows.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer along with a column-mounted tachometer and gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 63k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The replacement 454ci V8 features a four-barrel carburetor and a polished air cleaner and rocker covers as well as tubular exhaust manifolds. Engine casting numbers are shown in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and 12-bolt rear axle with a limited-slip differential. A Flowmaster dual exhaust system is installed.
