This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe was fitted with a 427ci V8 and repainted dark green with Yenko-style graphics as part of a refurbishment in the 1980s. It features a twin-domed hood, front disc brakes, and 15″ SO-CAL Speed Shop wheels along with long-tube headers and a dual exhaust system. Inside, the green vinyl–trimmed front bucket seats feature vinyl SYC lettering on the headrests and are split by a center console. Gear changes are through a Hurst shifter linked with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission, and a 12-bolt axle with a Positraction limited-slip differential is equipped out back. The car was acquired by the seller in 2014, and recent work has involved installing a Holley 750-CFM carburetor as well as replacing the distributor. This Chevelle sport coupe is now offered with service records, literature, and a Washington State title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Frost Green (59) and was repainted in its current dark green finish with Yenko-style graphics as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. Yenko, SS, and 427 badging has been added, and further details include a twin-domed hood, a driver-side mirror, and chrome bumpers. Various scratches and blemishes are shown up close in the gallery.
The 15″ SO-CAL Speed Shop wheels are mounted with G70-15 Firestone Wide Oval white-letter tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The refurbished cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in green vinyl, which extends to the dash and door panels. The front headrests wear vinyl SYC lettering, and Malibu badging adorns the dash and doors. An inoperative Delco AM radio is connected to Sony speakers, and the wiper and blower motors are not wired.
The two-spoke steering wheel wears SS branding and is paired with a Hurst cue-ball shifter. Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles, approximately 100 of which have been added under current ownership.
Said to have been installed in the early 1980s, the 427ci V8 is fitted with long-tube headers that empty into a dual exhaust system. A Holley 750-CFM carburetor and replacement distributor were added under current ownership.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with a Positraction limited-slip differential.
