This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe was modified and refurbished after the seller’s acquisition in 2009, with work including installing a 502ci V8, a Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual transmission, a Currie Enterprises 9″ rear axle, and four-wheel disc brakes along with reupholstering the interior and repainting the body in its current shade of red with dark red stripes. Additional equipment includes a hydraulic roller camshaft, a fabricated driveshaft, an electric fuel pump, a smoothed firewall, an aluminum radiator, dual electric cooling fans, tubular headers, electric exhaust cutouts, 15″ mag wheels, revised suspension components, and a Pioneer CD stereo linked to Kicker components. This Chevelle Malibu is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted in its current shade of red with dark red stripes during the aforementioned refurbishment and features stainless-steel body bolts in addition to side mirrors that are said to have been sourced from a 1997 Oldsmobile. Additional exterior details include a tinted windshield and windows, body-color bumpers, fog lights, and dual exhaust outlets.
E/T Mags 15″ wheels are mounted with 295/50 rear and 245/60 front BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and modifications are said to include SPC Performance adjustable upper control arms and BMR Suspension adjustable sway bar end links. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes featuring red calipers and slotted and drilled rotors.
The front bucket seats are said to have been sourced from a Chevrolet Camaro and are trimmed in black and gray leather with red stitching that extends to the rear bench, dashboard, and door panels. Additional appointments include front shoulder belts, a Hurst shifter, and carbon-look accents as well as a Pioneer CD stereo linked to a Kicker amplifier, subwoofer, and speakers. The seller notes the rear windows are difficult to open and close.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts New Vintage instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer as well as gauges for water temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer indicates 1,600 miles, and total chassis mileage is unknown.
The GM Performance Parts 502ci V8 is said to have been installed during the refurbishment and is reportedly equipped with a hydraulic roller camshaft, roller rocker arms, a Carter electric fuel pump, a 100-amp single-wire alternator, and a Haywire wiring harness. Additional equipment includes Sanderson exhaust headers, QTP electric cutouts, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The battery has been relocated to the trunk and a smoothed firewall has been installed. An oil drip is present.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a replacement Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual transmission and a Currie Enterprises 9″ rear axle. Additional equipment is said to include an Oceanside Driveline driveshaft and a Lakewood bellhousing. The frame was reportedly powder coated as part of the refurbishment.
