This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu convertible is finished in Garnet Red over black and is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear end. Equipment includes a black soft top, a glass rear window, 15″ Rallye wheels, air conditioning, and an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. The seller acquired the car in 2016 and has since reportedly rebuilt the engine and transmission, added front disc brakes, and replaced the master cylinder, starter, and fuel filter. This Chevelle Malibu is now offered with a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The exterior was reportedly refinished in its factory Garnet Red (52) during previous ownership and features a black convertible top that is shown opening and closing in a video below. Equipment includes quad headlights, a driver-side mirror, a glass rear window, a convertible boot, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome trim. Corrosion is noted on the top of the chrome windshield surround, and one of the reverse lights does not work. The power convertible top, rear window, convertible boot, bumpers, and exhaust were replaced during previous ownership.
15″ Rallye-style wheels wear 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white letter tires at each corner. A replacement master cylinder and power front disc brakes were reportedly fitted during current ownership. The seller notes that the tires were installed approximately 500 miles ago, at which time the front end was aligned. Footage of a walk-around and a drive is viewable above.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in black with a matching dash and door panels. Interior amenities include air conditioning, sun visors, and manual wind-up windows. Two tears are noted in the upholstery seams, and the radio does not work. The seller notes that the A/C has not been converted to R134a.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. Aftermarket Sunpro gauges for voltage, oil pressure, and water temperature are mounted below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 79k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission, both of which were reportedly rebuilt approximately 500 miles ago. A replacement Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor is fitted, as is a replacement starter, battery, proportioning valve, and fuel filter. A photo of the engine stamping viewable in the gallery shows that the last four digits of the block stamping match the last four digits of the serial number plate beneath the windshield.
