This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle was acquired by the selling dealer in early 2019 out of Indiana from its reported original owner, who modified the car in Pro Street style with a supercharged 468ci V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors and an air intake that protrudes from the hood. A three-speed automatic transmission directs power through a narrowed rear axle. The rear of the car has been tubbed to accommodate wide drag tires, and the black interior retains factory bucket seats and a rear bench. The car is finished in red with multi-color side stripes, and additional modifications include tinted glass, a trunk-mounted fuel cell, and aftermarket gauges. This modified Chevelle is now offered with records from current ownership, copies of magazines featuring the vehicle, and a clean New Hampshire title.
The exterior is finished in red and features painted orange, blue, teal, and yellow side stripes that extend to the door frames and jambs as well as the engine bay. The hood has been cut for the blower, the glass is tinted, and SS/396 badging is present around the car. The paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below.
Five-spoke wheels are mounted with Republic Invader Sport front tires and wider Mickey Thompson Sportsman treaded drag tires at the rear, which show uneven wear.
The black interior largely retains its factory components and features front bucket seats, a rear bench, SS door panels, and a Legacy cassette player.
Factory instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. A tachometer has been added to the right of the steering wheel, and a boost-pressure gauge is mounted under the dashboard. An auxiliary gauge pod to monitor oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel pressure has also been fitted outside the cabin on the hood. The five-digit odometer shows 58k miles, approximately 600 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The rear of the car has been tubbed to accommodate the wider rear tires and narrowed axle. A fuel cell extends into the bare trunk area.
The seller states that a 468ci V8 was installed by the original owner, and it features a Weiand 6-71 supercharger. Dual-quad Edelbrock carburetors extend through the cutout in the hood and are topped with an air scoop. The valve covers are color-coordinated, and long-tube headers feed a dual exhaust system with mufflers that terminates under the car near the rear axle. A tuneup and an oil change were performed in preparation for the sale. A video showing the engine running and revving is available at this link.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed Turbo 400 automatic transmission and a solid rear axle that has been narrowed and is suspended by coil springs. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
