This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS coupe is a Canadian-market example that was delivered new to McDonald Chevrolet Oldsmobile in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and acquired by the selling dealer in Ontario in 2021. It subsequently underwent a refurbishment and modification process that consisted of repainting the body in silver, reupholstering the cabin in black, and installing an LS3 6.2-liter V8 paired with a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a black vinyl roof, 18″ Rally-style wheels, front disc brakes, a custom exhaust system, front and rear spoilers, a hydraulic clutch, an aftermarket shifter, Dakota RTX gauges, a MOMO steering wheel, and a RetroSound stereo system. This Camaro SS is now offered with recent records, a Vintage Vehicle Service report, and Ontario registration.
Finished from the factory in Garnet Red (52), the body was refinished in the current shade of silver and fitted with a black vinyl roof covering. Additional equipment includes a front spoiler, chrome bumpers, a trunk lid spoiler, simulated rear fender louvers, and dual exhaust outlets. The selling dealer notes a scratch on the right front fender, a scratch on the grille under the left headlight bezel, and a chip on the rear bumper.
The 18″ Rally-style wheels wear chrome center caps and are mounted with Vercelli tires measuring 235/45 up front and 265/35 out back. The suspension was reportedly overhauled during the refurbishment and is fitted with front and rear swaybars. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin has been reupholstered and features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl with cloth inserts. Amenities include a heater, a full-length center console with a Tremec shifter, lap seatbelts, wood trim, and an aftermarket RetroSound stereo with Bluetooth.
A leather-wrapped three-spoke MOMO steering wheel frames Dakota RTX gauges consisting of a 260-km/h speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer with inset digital readouts for voltage and fuel level. Additional auxiliary gauges monitoring battery charge, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure are mounted in the center console ahead of the shifter. The digital odometer shows 532 kilometers (~331 miles). Total mileage is unknown.
The 6.2-liter LS3 V8 was sourced from a 2010 Camaro SS and is said to have been installed using American Autowire wiring and an E38 wiring harness and ECU. Additional equipment includes a Cold-Case aluminum radiator, an aftermarket air intake, a BBK Performance Power Plus Series throttle body, long-tube headers, and a custom stainless steel exhaust system.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission, and a McLeod hydraulic clutch is said to be fitted. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
