This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was reportedly delivered new in Missouri and is said to have remained in the state before moving to Florida in 2018, where it underwent a 15-month restoration completed in August 2019. The exterior was refinished in its factory Fathom Green, the white interior was reupholstered, and the numbers-matching 302ci V8 was overhauled. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a numbers-matching Muncie M-21 four-speed manual transmission and a 3.73 Positraction rear end. Additional equipment includes 15″ Rally wheels, a cowl-induction hood, a rear spoiler, a dual exhaust system, a Hurst shifter, and a push-button radio. This Z/28 was recently acquired by the selling dealer and is now offered with refurbishment photos and records, a trunk-mounted spare wheel and tire, a 2019 appraisal report from Camaro Hi-Performance, and a clean Florida title.
During the refurbishment the body was mounted on a rotisserie and refinished in factory Fathom Green with white racing stripes. Additional details include a ZL2 cowl-induction hood, a rear deck spoiler, and Z/28 badging. Close-up photos of the body and trim can be viewed in the gallery below.
Steel 15″ Rally wheels wear chrome hubcaps, beauty rings, and Goodyear Wide Tread GT tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are mounted in the trunk.
The overhauled cabin features bucket seats trimmed in white vinyl along with matching door panels and black carpets. Simulated woodgrain trim accents the dashboard and center console, and additional appointments include lap belts, hand-crank windows, a Hurst shifter lever, and a push-button radio.
Instrumentation includes a centrally mounted analog clock flanked by a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. Auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, engine temperature, amperage, and fuel level are mounted on the center console. The five-digit odometer shows 15k miles, with the actual total unknown.
The numbers-matching 302ci V8 was overhauled in August 2018, at which time the crankshaft, timing cover, push rods, rocker arms, water pump, harmonic balancer, crank pulley, and belts were replaced. The Holley 4053 carburetor is mounted on a refurbished ‘snowflake’ aluminum intake manifold, and a dual exhaust system is installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a numbers-matching Muncie M-21 four-speed manual transmission and a BU-stamped 3.73:1 rear axle with a Positraction differential. Additional underside images can be viewed in the gallery.
