This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was sold new through Good Chevrolet of Alameda, California, in February 1969. It was subsequently repainted in orange with white stripes and fitted with a 427ci V8 mated to a Tremec five-speed manual transmission before being acquired by the seller in July 2014. The interior is trimmed in black vinyl and patterned cloth upholstery and features woodgrain trim, a Delco AM/FM radio, and a Hurst shifter. Additional equipment includes a white vinyl roof cover, a cowl-induction hood, concealed headlights, front and rear spoilers, 15″ Rally-style wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering, and a 12-bolt rear axle with a Positraction differential. This modified Camaro is now offered with an owner’s manual, a warranty booklet, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The body left the factory finished in Hugger Orange (72) and was repainted under prior ownership. The car wears a white vinyl roof cover, white stripes, and Z/28 and Rally Sport badging. Further exterior details include a cowl-induction hood, concealed headlights, front and rear spoilers, faux rear quarter panel vents, rear bumper overriders, and a chrome rear bumper, rocker panel trim, and drip rails. The seller notes that the body-color front bumper is misaligned.
Silver-painted 15″ Rally wheels with polished trim rings and hub caps are mounted with 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power steering in addition to power-assisted front disc brakes. A space-saver spare is stored in the trunk along with a jack and lug wrench.
The front bucket and rear bench seats are trimmed in black vinyl with patterned cloth inserts and are complimented by a black dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Woodgrain trim lines the lower dashboard as well as the center console, and additional equipment includes a Hurst shifter, a Delco push-button AM/FM radio, a heater, and lap belts for five occupants. The seller notes evidence of corrosion on the trunk floor.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a clock flanked by a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline. Additional gauges in the center console display battery status, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The tachometer was replaced under prior ownership. The five-digit odometer shows 7k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The replacement 427ci Chevrolet V8 was installed under prior ownership and is equipped with an MSD ignition system as well as chrome valve covers. The radiator was replaced under prior ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with a Positraction differential. The transmission was installed under previous ownership.
An owner’s manual and warranty booklet will accompany the car.
