This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was repainted black and fitted with a replacement 350ci V8 engine and TH400 three-speed automatic transmission under previous ownership in the early 1980s. It was subsequently acquired by the seller in 1985 and further modified with installation of an Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley carburetor in the late 1980s as well as a Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission in the late 1990s. The car wears a front spoiler along with an SS-style hood, and the interior houses front bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl and cloth along with a digital media receiver and aftermarket speakers. Further equipment includes a Hurst shifter, KYB shocks, front disc brakes, and staggered-diameter Rally wheels along with a dual exhaust system featuring Hooker Headers, an H-pipe, and Supreme Performance mufflers. This Camaro coupe is now offered with an NCRS Shipping Data Report, service records, spare parts, a car cover, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The body was delivered from the factory in Frost Green and was repainted black under previous ownership in the early 1980s. The badging and sections of the exterior trim were shaved at that time, and the quarter panels were damaged and repaired in the 1980s. The front bumper spoiler and lower valance were replaced in 2008, and the SS-style hood was repainted in 2017 along with portions of the bodysides. The seller notes a dent in the trunk as well as paint chips and imperfections around the body.
The 14″ front and 15″ rear Rally wheels are mounted with 215/70 and 255/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, respectively. A quick-ratio steering box has been installed and the suspension has been modified with installation of KYB Gas-A-Just shocks, multi-leaf rear springs, and an aftermarket rear sway bar. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and a rebuilt brake booster and replacement master cylinder are said to have been fitted in 2015. The seller recommends adjusting the parking brake and replacing the pedal.
The front bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl with cloth inserts, while the rear bench has been reupholstered in black vinyl. Woodgrain trim accents the interior, and a replacement dash topper has been added along with a Hurst shifter, a digital media receiver, and aftermarket speakers. Further equipment includes a cabin heater, three-point front seatbelts, and hand-crank windows. The carpets, window felts, and weatherstripping were reportedly replaced in 2021. The seller recommends replacing the headliner, installing a replacement driver-side speaker, and adjusting the center console. They also note rust below the rear parcel shelf and at the passenger-side door sill along with wear on the seats, stiff heater controls, and an intermittent electrical issue with the right-front parking light.
An aftermarket split-spoke sport steering wheel fronts a replacement 140-mph speedometer and fuel level gauge, the latter of which works intermittently. A Marshall tachometer has been added to the steering column, and a set of three of their auxiliary gauges are affixed below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows just over 600 miles, and the seller states that approximately 5k miles have been driven under their ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement 350ci V8 engine was installed under previous ownership in the early 1980s. An Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley 650-cfm carburetor were fitted in 1986, and the distributor is said to have been rebuilt by Advanced Distributors. The seller notes an electrical drain and reports oil leaks from the main seals as well as damage on the end of the crankshaft near the harmonic balancer keyway.
A TH400 three-speed automatic transmission was installed under previous ownership in the early 1980s and was subsequently replaced with a rebuilt Muncie M20 four-speed manual unit under current ownership in the late 1990s, according to the seller. The exhaust system features Hooker Headers, an H-pipe, and Eliminator Turbo mufflers from Supreme Performance.
