This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was assembled at the Van Nuys, California plant, and under previous ownership between 2013 and 2015 the car reportedly received a cosmetic refurbishment as well as a replacement powertrain. The exterior has been refinished in black with white stripes over a refreshed black interior, and a 355ci V8 was fitted along with a five-speed manual transmission and a Moser rear end. Additional equipment includes RS-style headlights and taillamps, a Z/28-style front apron and badging, a rear spoiler, a stainless-steel exhaust system, steel wheels with hubcaps, and an aftermarket stereo. The selling dealer acquired the car from a friend two years ago and has since added approximately 1k miles. This first-generation Camaro is now offered in Canada with transferable British Columbia registration.
The car is finished in black and features white Z/28-style stripes with outer pinstripes as well as chrome trim, a front apron, a rear spoiler, and RS-style headlight and taillight assemblies. The selling dealer states that under previous ownership the exterior was stripped and refinished using a base-coat/clear-coat method. A start-up video with the headlights on and the engine revving can be viewed here.
Rally-style 15″ x 7″ steel wheels wear hubcaps, beauty rings, and BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Bilstein shocks have been fitted.
The cabin is trimmed in black and features bucket seats with headrests, black carpeting with matching floor mats, and faux-wood trim on the console that extends beneath the gauge cluster. The selling dealer states that the springs and cushions in the seats have been replaced, and mounting extensions were used to provide additional legroom. A Pioneer CD player has been fitted along with an amplifier in the trunk.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of instrumentation that includes a centrally located analog clock, a 120-mph speedometer, and an 8k-rpm tachometer. The odometer shows just over 32k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added by the selling dealer. True mileage is unknown.
The replacement small-block Chevy V8 is said to displace 355ci and sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed Tremec TKO 600 manual transmission and a Moser rear end with 3.73:1 gears. Dynamometer results shown in the gallery indicate that the engine produced more than 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.
A stainless-steel exhaust system with an X-pipe has been installed. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.
Walk-around and start-up videos are provided above, and an additional video tour can be viewed here. The seller claims to be willing to assist with importation fees, including shipping costs.
