This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was first delivered to J. Holland Motors in Burlington, Ontario, and it was acquired by its current owner in 2001. The car has been refinished in Daytona Yellow over black vinyl upholstery, and power is provided by a 427ci L72 V8 paired with a Muncie M22 four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt Positraction rear end. Features include the exterior and interior decor packages, a Hurst shifter, and a Delco AM radio, a ZL-2 ducted hood, exhaust headers, front disc brakes, 15″ Rallye wheels, and front and rear spoilers. This COPO 9561 Camaro is now offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with GM of Canada correspondence, award recognition, and transferable New York registration.
The body was refinished in its factory shade of Daytona Yellow (76) during prior ownership according to the seller. Features include front and rear spoilers, a ZL-2 ducted hood, and a left-side mirror. Close-up photos of the paintwork, badging, taillights, glass, and other trim are included in the gallery below.
Rallye wheels are fitted with chrome rings and hub covers and are wrapped in 15″Goodyear Polyglas white-letter tires, and a matching spare is stored in the trunk. Braking is handled by power-assisted disc brakes up front and drums at the rear, and the car is equipped with heavy-duty springs.
A black monochromatic treatment (711) is carried throughout the interior, including the standard bucket seats, rear bench, carpeting, door panels, and dashboard. The car retains a factory Delco AM radio, and further equipment includes a Hurst shifter, manually operated windows, and lap belts for the front and rear occupants.
Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary Stewart Warner gauges mounted under the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows over 74k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added by the current owner. Actual mileage is unknown.
The 427ci L72 V8 could only be ordered from the factory in the 1969 Camaro via a Central Office Production Order (COPO), since GM had an informal rule that the Chevelle and the Camaro could not be equipped with an engine larger than 400ci. This example has been fitted with headers, and power is sent to the rear wheels via a Muncie M22 four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt Positraction rear end.
Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery and display corrosion on some components.
August 2005 correspondence with GM of Canada is depicted above and in the gallery below, and shows factory options and specifications as well as production information.
Past award recognition is depicted above and included in the sale.
