1968 Chevrolet Nova Sport Coupe

This 1968 Chevrolet Nova Sport Coupe is powered by a 396ci V8 linked with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle. It is finished in blue over black vinyl upholstery, and equipment includes power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, Rally-style 15″ wheels, a center console, a Hurst shifter, a digital stereo, and a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. The car was refurbished under prior ownership and acquired by the selling dealer in 2023. This Nova is now offered in Missouri with a clean Michigan title.

The car left the factory finished in Butternut Yellow (Y) and was repainted blue under prior ownership. Exterior details include an SS-style hood, grille, and tail panel along with Chevy II and 396 badging, dual side mirrors, and front and rear bumper guards.

Rally-style 15″ wheels wear chrome trim rings and center caps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial redline tires. A non-matching spare is located in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in black vinyl upholstery joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, a Hurst shifter, lap belts, and a digital stereo.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and an analog clock. Auxiliary instrumentation is mounted in the center console ahead of the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows 34k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 396ci L78 V8 is said to have been built with a hydraulic camshaft, forged pistons, and “840” rectangular port cylinder heads and was installed under prior ownership. Powertrain casting and stamping images are shown in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with 3.07:1 gears. A McLeod clutch has reportedly been fitted. The dual exhaust system utilizes Flowmaster mufflers, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery.
