This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe is finished in turquoise and has been modified with a replacement 427ci V8 mated to a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission with a reverse manual valve body as well as a Chris Alston Chassisworks rear four-link suspension, tubular front control arms, adjustable coilovers, front disc brakes, and staggered Coys wheels. The engine has been updated with PW aluminum cylinder heads, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and an MSD ignition system, and a roll cage, retro-style digital stereo, and AutoMeter instrumentation have been added in the cabin. This Camaro coupe was acquired by the seller in 2022 and is now offered with a clean Utah title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in turquoise and is said to have been repainted under previous ownership. Features include a black stripe, black vinyl roof covering, cowl hood, rear spoiler, dual mirrors, front and rear bumpers with overriders, SS and 427 badging, and a dual side-outlet exhaust system. The windshield wipers have been removed.
The staggered-diameter Coys wheels are mounted with Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R tires measuring 26×6 R18 up front and 29×15 R20 out back. The car has been fitted with tubular front control arms, adjustable coilovers, rear mini tubs, and a Chris Alston Chassisworks rear four-link suspension. Braking is handled by a Classic Performance Products master cylinder along with drilled and slotted front discs and factory-style rear drums.
Bolstered front bucket seats and a rear bench are trimmed in black leather and suede and joined by a color-coordinated dashboard cover, and door panels. Equipment includes a roll cage with removable door bars as well as a Hurst shifter, four-point harnesses, Yamaha speakers, a trunk-mounted amplifier and subwoofers, and a retro-style digital stereo. A rear speaker grille is missing.
The replacement 427ci V8 was installed under previous ownership and is said to have been fitted with a forged crankshaft and pistons and a solid-lifter camshaft. Features include an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an MSD ignition system, PW aluminum cylinder heads, and Hooker headers. A Fuel Lab fuel system has been installed, and cooling is handled by an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The seller notes that the starter does not work at times and should be replaced. A fluid service was performed in 2022.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and a 9-inch rear axle with a spool differential and 4.30:1 gears. A reverse manual valve body and a high-performance torque converter are said to have been installed.
