This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was acquired by the seller in March 1997 and underwent a refurbishment in 2012. Work included repainting the body in blue with white stripes, reupholstering the interior, rebuilding the replacement 327ci V8 and the TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, and installing front disc brakes and a custom dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The car is also equipped with an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, an Edelbrock AVS 650 carburetor, a Comp Cams camshaft, and double-hump cylinder heads as well as SS badging, 15″ Cragar wheels, a cowl-induction hood, a rear spoiler, lap belts, woodgrain trim, and auxiliary gauges in the center console. This Camaro is offered with spare parts and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.
The body has been repainted in Marina Blue with white stripes, and the front frame was powder-coated black circa 2012. Additional features include a left-side mirror, a rear spoiler, a cowl-induction hood, 327 and SS badging, and dual exhaust outlets. The horn does not work, there is a paint chip below the right taillight, there is corrosion in the trunk, and a close-up photo of a rust spot on the edge of the windshield is included in the gallery.
Polished 15″ Cragar wheels are wrapped in 235/60 front and 275/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that were reportedly mounted in August 2021. The front suspension was reportedly overhauled in 2021 with Moog springs, and the suspension bushings have also been replaced. Power-assisted front disc brakes and stainless-steel hoses have been installed, though the seller notes that they are in need of adjustment and the parking brake needs to be connected. There is a vibration at highway speeds.
The front bucket seats and rear bench were retrimmed in black vinyl in addition to replacing the dashboard, glovebox, and woodgrain trim. Additional interior details include lap belts, a heater, and auxiliary gauges in the center console. The right-front seat frame bolt comes loose when the seat is tilted and the reproduction window cranks are loose and need to be replaced. Stains are visible on the passenger side carpet.
The wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and fuel-level gauge that have been fitted with LED bulbs. The five-digit odometer indicates 49k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown, and the voltmeter does not work.
The replacement 327ci V8 was reportedly sourced from a 1966 Corvette and was rebuilt during current ownership, and it is equipped with an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, an Edelbrock AVS 650 carburetor, a Comp Cams camshaft, an HEI distributor, double-hump cylinder heads, and tubular headers according to the seller. Additional work included replacing the wiring harness, the oil pump and pan, water pump, thermostat, and starter motor. An uninstalled factory carburetor, finned-aluminum Corvette-script valve covers, an oil pan, a timing cover, and an intake manifold will accompany the car.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, which the seller states was rebuilt and fitted with a shift kit. A custom dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers was installed in 2022.
