This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro convertible was modified and refurbished following its acquisition by the seller around a year ago. Work is said to have included replacement of body panels, trim, and interior components, a repaint in Le Mans Blue, and the installation of a 6.0-liter LS V8 and 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a black soft top, matching vinyl upholstery, air conditioning, Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, adjustable coilovers, and American Racing Boss TT wheels. This Camaro is being offered with photos and documentation from the build and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Butternut Yellow with a black soft top (Y2), the car was reportedly fitted with a replacement hood, doors, cowl, and inner and outer fenders prior to a repaint in its current shade of Le Mans Blue with black and white hockey stick stripes. The sidemarkers have been shaved and the bumpers, trim, windshield, and weatherstripping have reportedly been replaced. Exterior features include a black soft top, front and rear spoilers, SS badging, and LED headlights.
American Racing Boss TT wheels measure 18” up front and 20” out back and are mounted with Pirelli P Zero Nero tires sized 225/35 and 265/30 respectively. Braking is handled by Wilwood four-wheel discs with Hydroboost, red-painted calipers, and stainless-steel lines. The steering box and front subframe are said to have been replaced during the build, and the car features adjustable coilovers, QA1 tubular control arms, and Calvert Racing traction bars.
The interior is trimmed in black vinyl upholstery and was refreshed during the build with a replacement dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes lap belts, a center console, Old Air Products air conditioning, a Delco push-button AM radio, and an aftermarket rear-view mirror with an auto-dimming function and integrated home link buttons. Separation is present on the driver’s seat bottom.
A three-spoke steering wheel with an SS center cap sits ahead of Dakota Digital instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, auxiliary gauges, and an inset digital clock. A digital controller for the Holley EFI system is mounted above an analog clock housed in the center console. The digital odometer shows approximately 250 miles since completion of the build. Total chassis mileage is unknown.
The 6.0-liter LS V8 was installed during the build and reportedly features cathedral-port cylinder heads along with a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system with a digital controller. The car is said to have been re-wired and fitted with blade-type fuses, and additional features are said to include custom valve covers with hidden coil packs, an aluminum radiator, a Holley intake manifold, Keith Black pistons, a Dr. Bumpstick camshaft, and stainless-steel headers feeding a 2.5″ exhaust system with cutouts. A replacement fuel tank has also been installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission, a custom driveshaft, and a rear differential with 3.73:1 Eaton gears. According to the seller, the transmission was rebuilt prior to installation and a TCI transmission controller has been installed. The front floors and trunk pan have reportedly been replaced. Additional underbody photos can be seen in the gallery below, along with a handful of images from various stages of the build.
