This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro convertible is finished in blue with a black vinyl soft top over houndstooth upholstery and powered by a replacement 350ci V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a positraction differential. The car was acquired by the seller in June 1988, and subsequent work has consisted of repairing and repainting the body, retrimming the interior, and installing an MSD ignition system, an aluminum radiator, Global Suspension upper A-arm shafts, a Magnaflow exhaust, a Z/28 steering box, a power-operated soft top, and an AM/FM Bluetooth stereo. Equipment includes 15″ Rally wheels, front and rear spoilers, a black “bumblebee” front stripe, and a center console. This Camaro convertible is offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
Body panel fitment was adjusted and a section of the driver-side rear quarter panel was replaced before the car was repainted in Island Teal in 2010. Equipment includes a power-operated black soft top, front and rear spoilers, chrome bumpers, and a black “bumblebee” front stripe.
The 15″ Rally wheels wear trim rings and center caps and are wrapped in 225/60 Firehawk Indy 500 tires. Components installed under current ownership reportedly include power-assisted front disc brakes with rear drums, Global Suspension upper A-arm shafts, and a Z/28 quick ratio steering box.
The high-back front bucket seats were reportedly sourced from a 4th generation Camaro and are trimmed in black vinyl with houndstooth cloth inserts. Replacement carpets are installed, and interior equipment includes woodgrain trim, a center console, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a fold-down rear bench seat, and an AM/FM Bluetooth stereo wired to four component speakers. The trunk houses an Alpine amplifier and “cocktail shaker” vibration dampeners. The rear bench seat upholstery is torn. The heater was installed and the dashboard replaced in preparation for the sale.
The three-spoke steering wheel features an SS center emblem and fronts a tachometer with an inset clock and a 140-mph speedometer. Additional auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center console forward of the gear selector. The five-digit odometer indicates 6k miles, and approximately 50k have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 was installed under current ownership and features an MSD ignition system and distributor, and an aluminum radiator with Spal electric fans. The fuel tank and lines were reportedly replaced under current ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a positraction differential. The floor pan has been coated with POR15 and lined with sound-deadening material. A Magnaflow dual exhaust is installed.
