This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was produced at GM’s Norwood, Ohio facility and was acquired by the seller from the son of the reported original owner out of Texas in 2010. Subsequent work included a repaint in green, a rebuild of the four-speed automatic transmission, and installation of an overbored 350ci V8 and an Auburn locking rear differential. Additional modifications consisted of a four-wheel disc-brake conversion and updates to the interior. This Camaro is offered with photos from the refurbishment, records from current ownership, spare parts that include a Muncie four-speed manual transmission, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
Delivered new in Sequoia Green (V) with a white vinyl top (6), the body was repainted in its current shade of green in 2010. Features include white nose stripes, 327 badging, a driver-side mirror, and chrome bumpers. The exterior is shown up close in the photo gallery below.
The 15″ Rallye wheels wear chrome trim rings and hub covers and are wrapped in 205/75 Hankook tires up front and 275/60 Cooper Cobra white letter tires out back. Disc brakes are fitted at all four corners, and the car is reportedly equipped with Chromoly inner axle shafts and subframe connectors. Additional updates by the seller are said to include coilover front shocks along with tubular upper and lower control arms. Spare rear suspension components are included in the sale.
Replacement black upholstery covers the front bucket seats and the rear bench. Equipment includes an Alpine CD stereo, Pioneer speakers, manual windows, a center console storage compartment, and a lockable glovebox.
The Grant GT steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and an AutoMeter tachometer fitted atop the steering column. Supplemental gauges are mounted ahead of the center console. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 67k miles, approximately 5k of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement small-block Chevrolet V8 was rebuilt and bored .030″ over to a displacement of 355 cubic inches, and features are said to include flat-top pistons, I-beam connecting rods, milled and ported Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, an aftermarket camshaft, and an Edelbrock air gap intake manifold topped with an Edelbrock carburetor. Tubular exhaust headers mate to a 3″ exhaust system fitted with a pair of Flowmaster mufflers.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission rebuilt with billet internals and an Auburn locking rear differential equipped with 3.71:1 gears.
Images in the gallery document the refurbishment process, which involved replacing the passenger-side fender and door skin, nose header panel, and rear window deck filler panel.
A Muncie four-speed manual transmission is included in the sale along with a spare steering wheel, exterior trim, and suspension components.
