This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro was acquired by the seller out of New Jersey in September 2018 and has since been fitted with a 376ci LS3 V8, a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, and an Eaton Detroit limited-slip differential. Under previous ownership the exterior reportedly had been stripped to metal before being refinished in Fathom Blue over a refreshed blue interior that now features Dakota Digital gauges and air conditioning. The car has been rewired with an American Autowire harness, and additional modifications include a Holley stainless-steel exhaust system, 18″ Forgeline wheels, Hotchkis control arms, Ridetech suspension, Baer disc brakes, Lee steering box, LED lighting, and more. This modified first-generation Camaro is now offered with manuals for the aftermarket parts, extra fluids and an oil filter, refurbishment photos, and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.
The seller states that the previous owner disassembled the car and stripped the exterior to bare metal before commissioning a repaint in Fathom Blue (EE). The car features LED headlights, side markers, and taillights. The paintwork and exterior trim are shown in detail in the photo gallery below, including chipped paint noted by the seller.
Silver 18″ Forgeline wheels have polished outer lips and are mounted with 235/40 front and 255/40 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. A Lee steering box has been fitted, and modifications to the suspension and braking systems include Hotchkis control arms, Ridetech springs and shocks, Speedtech Performance AFX sealed-bearing spindles, 14” and 12” Baer disc brakes, and an unassisted Wilwood master cylinder.
The Blue (717) cabin features re-covered bucket seats, three-point seatbelts in the front and rear, a rebuilt tilt column, a replacement center console, a modern radio paired with a power antenna, and an air-conditioning system from Vintage Air. The car has been rewired with a harness from American Autowire. The seller notes that some interior trim in the rear needs to be installed, the window cranks should be adjusted, a wiper motor is not fitted, and some pinholes are present in the trunk floor.
A three-spoke Momo steering wheel frames Dakota Digital instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and digital auxiliary gauges. A photo showing approximately 34k miles on the factory odometer is shown in the gallery below, although true chassis mileage is unknown. The seller reportedly has added about 650 miles since 2018.
The fuel-injected 376ci LS3 V8 was fitted by the seller and sends power to the rear wheels through a Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission with a Silver Sport Transmissions hydraulic clutch assembly. The Currie Enterprises rear axle is fitted with 3.89:1 gears and an Eaton Detroit Truetrac limited-slip differential. Modifications include Hooker headers and a 3” Holley exhaust, a Holley oil pan, a Lee power-steering pump and reservoir, a Ron Davis aluminum radiator with computer-controlled electric fans, and more as shown on a build list provided at the end of the gallery.
A stainless-steel fuel tank was sourced from Rick’s Tanks in El Paso, Texas and has been fitted alongside an electric fuel pump and replacement fuel lines. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
A number of in-progress photos captured by the previous and current owners during different stages of the refurbishment are also shown at the end of the gallery. Cold-start and driving videos are presented below. Additional videos include another start-up and hard acceleration.
