This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was refurbished and modified by Turnkey Automotive in Oxford, Michigan in advance of the seller’s acquisition of the vehicle in early 2022. A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 was installed and paired with a six-speed Tremec manual transmission and a Ford 9″ rear end. The car rides on a Detroit Speed QuadraLink rear suspension with JRi coilovers and is further equipped with Detroit Speed front and rear subframes along with rack-and-pinion steering, Wilwood disc brakes, and 18″ Forgeline wheels. The body was repainted red and features an SS-style hood and a black vinyl roof, while interior details include Recaro front bucket seats paired with Simpson Racing lap belts along with a Hurst shifter, Vintage Air climate control, a Bluetooth-capable stereo, AutoSound speakers, and Dakota Digital instrumentation. This modified Camaro is now offered with refurbishment photos and a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted its current shade of red under previous ownership and features a black vinyl roof and black striping. Further details include an SS-style hood with raised simulated air intakes, a black grille, dual side mirrors, chrome bumpers, and SS and 396 badging.
Black-finished 18″ Forgeline wheels wear Michelin Pilot Sport tires measuring 245/35 up front and 315/30 out back. The car is equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, Detroit Speed front and rear subframes, and a Detroit Speed QuadraLink rear suspension and coilovers from JRi Shocks. Power-assisted braking is handled by six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers over cross-drilled and slotted rotors.
The Recaro front bucket seats are upholstered in black leather and cloth and accompanied by Simpson Racing lap belts. A Bluetooth-capable stereo is connected to AutoSound speakers, and additional features include a Hurst shifter and a Vintage Air climate-control system. The rear seats have been removed, and three storage compartments are installed in their place.
The aftermarket leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Dakota Digital instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer. Gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure are mounted in the center console. The digital odometer has not been calibrated and reads zero miles. The seller has driven the car approximately 150 miles, and true chassis mileage is unknown.
The 6.2-liter LS3 V8 features dual-throttle-body fuel injection. A Detroit Speed fuel tank has been installed, and the battery has been relocated to the trunk. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a Ford 9″ rear end from GearFX Driveline with 3.70:1 gearing. A dual exhaust system features four-into-one headers flowing into an X-pipe and downturned outlets.
