This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro is powered by a 396ci V8 paired with a replacement Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission and has been refinished in silver with black stripes and SS trim. Additional modifications include a cowl induction hood, electric headlight doors, an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold, Mallory and MSD ignition components, an aluminum radiator with a custom overflow tank, and a 4.10:1 differential. The car was acquired by the seller in 2016, and service performed since included installation of new pushrods and rocker arms, transmission seals, a Powermaster alternator, and more. This Camaro is offered with recent service records, a removed automatic transmission and air conditioning components, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
Originally finished in Corvette Bronze (O), the car was repainted in its current silver with black stripes in the 2000s, reportedly by Superior Auto Body of Pinellas Park, Florida. Features include a front air dam, a cowl induction hood, a rear spoiler, and SS badging.
Chrome 15″ Rally wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires sized 215/65 up front and 275/60 out back. The factory vacuum-operated hideaway headlight system has been replaced with an electronic version, and the covers can be seen opened in the gallery below.
The interior is trimmed in black vinyl with matching carpets and woodgrain accents on the full-length center console. Features include front and rear lap belts, a Classic Industries stereo with Bluetooth, and Camaro-branded floor mats. The air conditioning system was removed under previous ownership, and a compressor and other components are included in the sale.
A cracked three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an inset clock. A new speedometer cable and odometer gear were installed under the seller’s ownership. Just over 17k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, with total mileage unknown. AutoMeter Pro-Comp auxiliary gauges are mounted ahead of the shifter.
The 396ci V8 is equipped with an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold, a Mallory ignition coil and distributor, and an MSD electronic ignition module. Work performed under the seller’s ownership included installation of new pushrods and rocker arms, an aluminum radiator and custom coolant overflow tank, a 150-amp Powermaster alternator, an Optima Redtop battery, and a chrome 3″ Edelbrock air cleaner. The rear main seal was replaced and an oil change performed approximately six months ago.
A Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission has replaced the factory automatic, which is included in the sale. The transmission was resealed and fitted with a new mount under the seller’s ownership. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4.10:1 differential. The carburetor is said to run rich, and a transmission leak is noted by the seller.
