This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Wagon is a well-sorted driver that has been lightly upgraded to be comfortable and reliable enough for regular use. The car was used for a 1,500-mile road trip last year, and the 350 cubic inch V8 has been modified with upgraded valves, a Thumper cam, Quick Fuel 600CFM carb, headers, and true dual exhaust. The engine is backed by a TH350 transmission with a shift kit and is cooled by a modern aluminum radiator. The interior has been subtly upgraded with a vintage-look modern radio, and the car has been dropped 2″ on lowering springs. This expansive wagon is offered with a clean Oregon title by BaT regular DENWERKS.
The paintwork on this 200″ long wagon appears to be Nantucket Blue, which is the original color according to the body tag. The car has been lowered 2″ and is fitted with new 15×7″ Rallye wheels, caps, and trim rings with nearly new tires. The paintwork appears well-applied, with a smooth, glossy finish. Some overspray is present on the door seals, though as they are older, the seller posits that replacing them could be a good winter project.
The trim and bodywork all appear very nicely aligned. The seller notes that some of the chrome is starting to show its age, and from the photos in the gallery, this appears most notable on a few small pieces of trim around the windows.
The interior appears nicely finished, and apart from a few small upgrades, has a stock appearance. The stereo system includes a modern head unit with a retro look and MP3 functionality, and a pair of additional gauges are fitted, including a column-mounted tachometer. All of the power windows function if actuated from their individual door switches, though the 4-switch panel on the driver’s door does not work correctly. The 97k indicated miles are believed to be accurate.
The upholstery front and rear remains taut, and the new black carpets are nicely fitted. The seller notes that there are some small trim pieces inside the rear side windows that are missing, but the interior trim and hardware are otherwise complete.
The rear cargo area is expansive and remains standard apart from a pair of speakers mounted to the floor. The tailgate window rolls up and down with the key, though the switch under the dash is suffering a fault that the seller is trying to remedy.
The engine bay is very neat, and the 350 cubic inch V8 benefits from a number of upgrades including 1.94″ valves typical of early 4-barrel cars and most post-1986 350s. Other modifications include a Thumper cam, Quick Fuel 600CFM carb, aluminum radiator, headers, and dual exhaust. The only notable rust is present under the battery tray, and it has been partially repaired.
The TH350 transmission has been rebuilt and is fitted with a shift kit and a 2,500 rpm stall converter. The power steering box, master cylinder, and booster are also all new. Apart from some seepage around the transmission pan, the car is said to be in good mechanical condition.
A walkaround and drive video of the car can be seen above. This Chevelle Malibu Wagon is described as a well sorted driver that is ready to be enjoyed as-is.
