This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe was refurbished under prior ownership and fitted with a 540ci Dart V8 linked with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear end with Moser Engineering axles. The car is finished in red over black vinyl upholstery and features power steering, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, adjustable upper control arms, rear air shocks, and American Racing 15″ wheels as well as a Hurst shifter, a digital cassette stereo, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Quick Fuel carburetor, MSD ignition components, and Brodix aluminum cylinder heads. This modified Chevelle was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and is now offered in Idaho with refurbishment photos and a clean Tennessee title.
The body was reportedly repainted in red in approximately 1998. Details include an SS-style hood, bright bodyside moldings, SS and 396 badging, chrome side mirrors, chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets that exit behind the rear wheels. Paint blemishes are shown in the gallery below.
American Racing 15″ wheels wear spinner center caps and are mounted with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T white-letter tires measuring 225/70 up front and 255/60 out back. The car has been fitted with power-assisted steering, adjustable front upper control arms, and rear air-adjustable shock absorbers. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs at each corner.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench reupholstered in black vinyl joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a center console, an electric clock, a Hurst shifter, retractable lap belts, and a digital cassette stereo. A 22-gallon Jaz Products fuel cell and battery box have been installed in the trunk.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and battery voltage. AutoMeter gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature are located below the center of the dashboard. The fuel gauge does not work. The five-digit odometer shows 71k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 540ci V8 was installed under prior ownership and features a Dart engine block, a Canton oil pan, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, a Quick Fuel Technologies 1,050-cfm carburetor, Brodix aluminum cylinder heads, billet pullies, Flowmaster long-tube exhaust headers, and an MSD billet distributor, electronic ignition coil, and 6AL digital ignition controller. An aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fans has been installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission, a Ram twin-disc clutch, and a 12-bolt rear end with Moser Engineering axles. The 3″ dual exhaust system utilizes Flowmaster mufflers.
