This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was purchased by the seller in 2004 and subsequently refurbished in the style of a Yenko Camaro SS. The build included a repaint in red along with the installation of a black vinyl top over red vinyl upholstery, as well as a 427ci V8 paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle with a 3.73:1 Positraction differential. Additional equipment includes a Yenko-style hood, power-assisted front disc brakes, staggered rear air shocks, power steering, a Quick Fuel Technology four-barrel carburetor, Yenko-branded valve covers, tubular exhaust headers, an aluminum radiator, Vintage Air climate control, power windows, a full-length center console, and a Custom Autosound stereo paired with aftermarket speakers. This modified Camaro was featured in a March 2021 BaT auction and is now offered with records from current ownership, refurbishment photos, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The body was epoxy-primed and refinished in red with black stripes and a black tail panel. Equipment includes a black vinyl roof, front and rear spoilers, dual side mirrors, a Yenko-style twin-scoop hood with hold-down pins, dual exhaust outlets, a retractable antenna, chrome moldings and bumpers, and Yenko, SS, and 427 badging. The seller states that the door shells were replaced during the refurbishment.
Torq Thrust–style 15″ alloy wheels wear Yenko-branded center caps and are mounted with 215/60 front and 255/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and the suspension has been modified with staggered rear air shocks.
The bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in Deluxe red vinyl and paired with a matching dashboard, door panels, and replacement carpeting, the latter of which are protected with rubber floor mats. Equipment includes Vintage Air climate control, a full-length center console, power windows, lap belts, Yenko badging, an analog clock, and a retro-look Custom Autosound stereo connected to aftermarket speakers and two trunk-mounted amplifiers. The seller states that Dynamat insulation was installed beneath the carpets.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Gauges displaying oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level are mounted ahead of the shifter. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 700 miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 427ci V8 was reportedly built using a de-stroked and rebuilt 454ci big-block and installed in place of the previously-fitted 350ci V8. Additional equipment includes:
- Machined GM rectangular-port cylinder heads
- 6223 polished/nitrided crankshaft
- GM high-performance connecting rods
- Speed Pro CS175R camshaft
- Speed Pro RP5002RK pushrods
- Speed Pro double timing chain
- ARP hardware
- Yenko-branded ribbed valve covers
- Winters square-port intake manifold
- Quick Fuel Technology 650-cfm double-pumper carburetor
- Ceramic-coated tubular headers
- Aluminum radiator
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle that was rebuilt using a Positraction differential with 3.73:1 gears.
Photos of the body and the engine during the refurbishment process are provided in the gallery.
