This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS coupe has been refinished in black over black and is powered by a numbers-matching 350ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes hidden headlights, a power sunroof, power windows, an AM radio, a Sun tachometer, a Hurst shifter, 15″ wheels, and front disc brakes. The seller acquired the car in 1984 as a disassembled project that had been refinished, and approximately 5k miles have been added since completion of the project in 1988. The car is said to have been recently serviced with a replacement heater core, fuel pump, engine gaskets and seals, freeze plugs, belts, and hoses. This Camaro SS is now offered with a removed shifter and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
The car was delivered new in Tuxedo Black (A), and under previous ownership the exterior was stripped and refinished in black using single-stage Dupont Imron polyurethane paint. The car features a vinyl roof covering, chrome wheel-arch and rocker-panel trim, a replacement hood, and a rear spoiler. The seller notes that the RS-specific headlight actuators require service. Cosmetic imperfections are depicted in the gallery below.
Gray 15×7″ Rally wheels wear beauty rings and Chevrolet-branded hubcaps, and they are mounted with 215/70 front and 275/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Front disc brakes with four-piston calipers were added by the seller, who states that a front-end alignment was recently performed.
The car received bucket seats and black upholstery from the factory (765-Z), and black carpeting covers the floors. Features include a power sunroof, power windows, and an AM radio. The seller installed a Hurst shifter and lap belts, and the heater core has been replaced.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a fuel-level gauge, a Sun tachometer, and Stewart-Warner auxiliary gauges added under the dash. The seller notes that the fuel gauge is erratic. The five-digit odometer shows 60k miles, approximately 5k of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The 350ci V8 has been refinished. The seller states that recent service included rebuilding the Rochester carburetor, changing the oil, and replacing the fuel pump as well as gaskets, seals, freeze plugs, belts, and hoses.
The engine-pad stamping reads 7N246881, which matches the final characters in the car’s chassis number. The MS suffix of the stamping on the opposite side of the pad is pictured in the gallery, and it is consistent with a 295-horsepower 350ci V8 paired with a manual transmission for 1967.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.
