This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro convertible was acquired by the seller in 1999, and a subsequent refurbishment completed in May 2020 reportedly included refinishing the body as well as installing a replacement 350ci V8 and a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Finished in Bolero Red with a Parchment soft top over a Parchment interior, the car has been modified with staggered-width 15″ Rallye-style wheels, a stainless-steel exhaust and headers, Hotchkis suspension components, a Vintage Air climate-control system, updated wiring, a smoothed firewall, Dakota Digital instrumentation, and a custom audio system. This Camaro is offered with refurbishment records a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The body was reportedly refinished in Bolero Red (R-1) by Estes Rods & Customs of Sonora, California during the refurbishment, which is said to have included removing and powdercoating the subframe. An SS-style hood and SS badges are fitted, and a Z22 Rally Sport package features a trim-specific grille with concealed headlights, front-valance-mounted turn signals, as well as reverse lights beneath the rear bumper. Aftermarket LED taillights are installed, as pictured in the photo gallery below. The seller notes paint chips acquired during the reassembly process.
Rallye-style 15″ wheels wear chrome trim rings and hub covers and are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires measuring 215/60 front and 255/60 rear. The ride height has been lowered using a Hotchkis suspension kit and is complemented by chassis-stiffening components. The power-operated Parchment soft top is shown raised and lowered in the gallery.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in Parchment and black vinyl (797-Z) and accompanied by matching door panels and center console, with a black dashboard and carpet. Amenities include a Vintage Air air-conditioning system, power-assisted brakes and steering, a custom center console with cupholders, and a Kenwood touchscreen head unit playing through speakers in the kick panels and a trunk-mounted JL Audio subwoofer. A Hurst shift lever is topped by a white shift knob.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames Dakota Digital instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges measuring fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer reads less than 20 miles, although the seller indicates that approximately 500 break-in miles were driven before the gauges were calibrated. True mileage is unknown.
A 350ci V8 was reportedly built by Bettanini’s Custom Manufacturing of Sonora, California, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Features include a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a polished-aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold, MSD ignition, aluminum valve covers, a Milodon oil pan, and an aluminum radiator with electric fans. Aftermarket headers feed a stainless-steel dual exhaust system. During the refurbishment, the wiring was updated and the firewall smoothed.
