This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro was acquired by the seller out of California in February 2014, reportedly following 31 years of inactivity. A subsequent refurbishment included a color change to red over a reupholstered red vinyl interior as well as the addition of a factory-style air conditioning system, power steering, front disc brakes, and period options. A replacement 350ci V8 routes power through a Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with 3.31:1 gearing. This Camaro is offered with a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The cosmetic refurbishment was performed by the seller and included replacement of the quarter panels, inner and outer wheel housings, trunk floor, and taillamp panels prior to a repaint in red. Chrome rocker trim was added and glass is also said to have been replaced throughout. The car was originally finished in Royal Plum according to the trim tag pictured in the gallery below.
Painted 15″ Rally wheels are fitted with beauty rings, chrome hubcaps, and BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by front discs with four-piston calipers that were installed by the seller.
The interior was reupholstered in red vinyl with matching carpets and add-on brightwork. Bucket seats are separated by a full-length center console with auxiliary gauges that were added during the refurbishment. Amenities include an air conditioning system installed by the seller, a Delco push-button radio, and a heater with a defroster.
A red factory steering wheel with a bowtie center cap frames instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a five-digit odometer that shows 65k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 350ci V8 is said to have been cast in 1967 and was disassembled during the refurbishment, with the seller describing the presence of factory-style head gaskets and piston markings.
