This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro convertible was built in the style of an Indy 500 pace car and is powered by a replacement 327ci V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. It is finished in white over blue vinyl upholstery, and additional equipment includes a white soft top, pace-car graphics, 17″ Foose wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, hideaway headlights, rack and pinion steering, Global West tubular control arms, Hotchkis sway bars, a custom exhaust system, a Hurst shifter, and an Alpine CD stereo with Infinity speakers. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2021, and service in June 2022 included changing the oil and differential fluid. This modified Camaro convertible is now offered with a California title.
Originally Butternut Yellow, the car has been repainted in white with replica Indianapolis 500 Pace Car graphics. Equipment includes a manually-operated white soft top, hideaway headlights, chrome bumpers and trim, a front spoiler, and Super Sport hood louvers. Blemishes are noted around the body, and rust bubbles are present on the passenger rear wheel arch, inner door jams, and convertible top openings.
Aftermarket 17″ Foose wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2 tires sized 235/45 front and 275/40 rear. The suspension features rack and pinion steering with Global West tubular control arms and Hotchkis sway bars. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with cross-drilled and slotted rotors.
The front bucket seats and rear bench have been reupholstered in bright blue vinyl with white accents. Replacement door panels, carpets, floor mats, dash pad, sun visors, and seat belts are also fitted, and additional equipment includes a Hurst floor shifter, a center console, Camaro-branded floor mats, and an Alpine CD stereo with Infinity speakers. Wear is noted on the seat trim and carpeting.
The three-spoke steering mirror frames a 120-mph speedometer while a trio of gauges is mounted in the center console. The five-digit odometer shows just under 1,300 miles, and the true mileage is unknown. The tachometer is inoperable.
The 327ci V8 was installed under previous ownership and is fitted with an Edlebrock intake manifold and an aftermarket carburetor. Additional equipment includes a chrome alternator, valve covers, and air cleaner, as well as an MSD ignition system, a BeCool aluminum radiator, and a custom exhaust system. An oil change was carried out in June 2022. An oil leak is present from the oil pan.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a replacement five-speed manual transmission, and the selling dealer notes that the differential gear oil was changed in June 2022. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
